Kambili

 Kambili.

The voice of one crying and shouting in void

The echoing tone heard in the wilderness of time

An earnest appeal to humanity, to man.

Kambili?

A persistent question from the restless mender of soul

Asking and whining and pining...

Kedu mgbe oga ebe?

When will all the senseless killing and massacre,

The brutal shed of brother's blood in cold murder,

The endless hustle cum tussle of power,

Coyly hidden under the shell of

"Thus says our law, and so says the lord"

End?

When will it all end?

The impulsive bring them down syndrome,

Perfectly masterminded by the most trusteds

In  such stark betrayal that leaves you intoning,

Even you Brutus?

Keduziano mgbe oga ebe?

Man's inhumanity to man?

Woman's inhumanity to woman?

Ndi kwe na ndi ekwena.

Why do we abandon the fight against survival,

Against hunger,

Against suffering,

To turn on ourselves?

Is it not enough that we are in this hell labeled life, Crushing under the weight of the feared and unknown works of nature?

Does it not bother you enough that we have earthquakes, Flood, landslide, wildfire, and other natural disasters to deal with?

Why do we add to our pain,

With avariciousness, envy, greed and insane lust for power?

Birizianu ka anyi biri.

Train yourself to let go of this greed and envy that threatens to swallow us all. Imbibe in you compassion and empathy.Live, and let your neighbor live. For there is no way else humanity can be better.
